“ I've been here twice but not for a long time. I love Italian but found the food here very bland. I can honestly say it looked and tasted like it was a microwave meal from a supermarket. Still seems to be full whenever I pass so someone likes it. ”

“Im sorry 'bobslayed' they might be lovely people but I went here recently and had a lobster pasta special and it was awful. I could barely taste any lobster and what there was were in tiny little crumbs not the juicy pieces you normally get. Also the sauce was no more special than a can of tinned tomatoes with a bit of cream. No depth of flavour. I cannot understand why anyone goes there at all.”

“We eat at Sorrento as often as we can and can't fault it. The brothers who own and run it are genuinely dedicated to providing a great service and to being in Stroud. The Chef, Roberto, is top class and all the staff are very professional as well a friendly and relaxed. There are always a few specials to vary the menu and if you like expertly cooked fish, it's probably the best place to go in Stroud. We've been there when it's busy and when it's quiet and have never had a less than great time. .”

“Had dinner here last week. The food was okay - nothing special but the prices were a little steep for starters and non-pizza mains. My main course of Veal was nearly £15 but the sauce was just rubbish. I would think it was made from a powder base. The drinks were pricey too. The decor was really sad. There was nothing inside on the walls to give it an Italian ambience. Service was okay. Not a great restaurant but sadly the only Italian in Stroud so I expect they do well because of that.”

“Every time I walk past Sorrento it is completely packed out. I've been twice, and I can honestly say that the food is just OK. My fiancé had a very bad seafood risotto (which seemed to contain no seafood and lots of something red to colour the rice - gross). He isn't one to complain but he complained that night, and was told he was wrong, that it was one of the most popular dishes - blah, blah, blah. My risotto was quite nice but I could have made it myself at home. I'd go somewhere else if I were you. ”

“It's hard to rate this lowly. It's a nice place. Maybe a little small and cramped.
The prices are good...which is why it is VERY popular with young and old alike. Best to book a table beforehand.
Food is good.
I wonder if they would step up if there were more italian restaurants of note in Stroud?”

“This is a really popular restaurant in Stroud and always seems to be busy but I'm not a fan. The food is average at best. The prices are good though and the staff very nice.”
