TRADITIONAL country pursuits of hunting, shooting and fishing are all in the line-up for this year's annual Frampton Country Fair.

From dogs and falcons to fishing and wildfowl, rare breeds and Morris men, the show has all sorts across 30 acres in Frampton-on-Severn.

New this year is a speed and agility display by a pack of deerhounds, and back by popular demand will be expert falconer Ben Long. His trained bird will fly up to 800ft to retrieve a lure from a purpose-built kite.

The Living Working Countryside area is dedicated to the diverse interests and skills of countrymen and women.

There are demonstrations of hedge laying, bee keeping, ferret racing, rat catching and apple pressing. In the main ring there will be a gun dog demonstration, a pageant of working horses and some serious competition amongst the tent pegging teams.

Music comes from the Corps of Drums of Gloucestershire Army Cadet Force and acoustic guitar duo Itchy and Scratchy, with dancing from the Lassington Oak Morris Men and laughs for the children from a Punch and Judy show.

Daphne Neville will be there with her enchanting otters and non-working dogs can show off in the Companion Dog Show. For tickets, call 01242 572573.
