Have a say on future of college site
COMMUNITY groups and members of the public are to have their say on the future of the Five Acres site in the Forest of Dean.
It's currently the home of Gloucestershire College's Forest campus, but they want to move away to a purpose-built establishment in Cinderford.
The plans caused uproar in the Coleford community with fears the move would be detrimental to the town and surrounding villages.
On Thursday, Forest of Dean District Council will hold a day-long scrutiny inquiry into the future of Five Acres, which is also home to a theatre, leisure centre and Five Acres School.

Campaigners have previously been critical of a perceived lack of involvement in the process for the public.

“Hope they find enough to keep the discussion going for eight and a half hours - or is that just a clever ploy to make people forget what they were discussing?
Why can't people be just given a questionnaire (posted on the council's website) which they can fill in for collation by those responsible?
The question is closely related to whether the college should move to Cinderford in the first place - the economic and strategic cases for which are non-existent. Not clear when the decision was made to "... but they want to move away to a purpose-built establishment in Cinderford." the impression given was that a decision was yet to me made on re-siting the college.”
