Call to spend money on potholes not signs
A ROW over the cost of county council signs erupted at a Tewkesbury Town Council meeting.
County councillor Mike Sztymiak (I, Tewkesbury) asked members of the town council to complain to the Conservative-run Shire Hall on the issue.
He said he "deplored" it spending £1,250 on 50 signs advertising its Highways Local work.
Mr Sztymiak said the money would have been better spent on fixing pot holes.

Some town councillors agreed with him but others felt he was raising the point for political reasons.
Confusion over the result of a vote on the issue means it will come back to the town council's April meeting.

The comment made here are not back biting but opinions ,which is more than than the wonderful councillor will ever express. He is and I repeat IS very good at attending meeting but never does anything after. All he seems to do is collect information. If any person or organisation seeks to criticise him he uses his influence to label them as trouble makers. He has to be challenged with the question ' 'WHAT HAVE YOU ACTUALLY DONE '?'' WHAT PLANS HAVE YOU INSTIGATED TO SOLVE PROBLEMS AND MAJOR ISSUES?'' His answers will be interesting.”

“2009.... £8800 county council expenses donated to the toilet campaign ....to get elected .....2013 it's pot holes. This is blatant attention seeking.Mr. Sztymiak still has not come up with any suggestions or positive plans on how to solve problems in Tewkesbry. He nods his head, draws attention to his independant group and does nothing .But there will always be another meeting for him to attend.
P.S. How long did it take his crew to get the toilets built? (and how many meeting)”

“Might be willing to listen to the Town Council a little more if that had not just upped the precept by over 13% and for what? All they ever do is moan and complain, acheive very little and still put up the precept. At least GCC is doing something, the Town Council cant even keep sand bag replenishment machines filled.”

“only £30,000 donated from his allowance towards the public toilets. Wasn't that long ago that Eric Pickles called on councils to cut street clutter obviously doesn't apply in this case.”

“Mike Sztymiak has once again leapt on a nince little headline grabber just before an election. How strange that councillor Vernon Smith who introducd the successful see it fill it policy that has meant more potholes being filled at lower cost, is also a Tewkesbury county councillor and political rival. This is a shoddy little ploy by councillor Szymiak to detrach attention from the achioevements of his political rivals. A see nothng , say nothing , do nothing councillor tying to proect his own ambitions. When Mike Sztymiak starts campaigning ask him just what he has DONE for the money we pay him. Apart from a lot of meetings and and a lot of side stepping major issues , we get precious little value for money.”
