Gloucester storm past the Northampton Saints

Gloucester 33 Northampton 10

Lovely stuff. A second winning bonus point in as many games and a fifth straight victory with some fine tries scored at Kingsholm.

Gloucester are back where they belong at the top of the table with Bath playing on Sunday.

A decent Northampton team were made to look ordinary as Iain Balshaw, Luke Narraway, Olly Barkley and Lesley Vainikolo allo went over for fine tries.

The Saints probably had more possession and territory in the game, but rarely threatened the Gloucester defence except for a second-half try through openside Scott Gray.

The Cherry and Whites, on the other hand, seemed to cross every time they got near the line.

The only thing missing was a try from one of the giant locks at the end, both Will James and Marco Bortolami going close to capping a dominant display up front.

An assured display from Ryan Lamb at the rudder was also worth a mention, the fly-half kicking five from seven to keep the score board ticking over.
