Harrow Hill lose out twice to the odd goal

Thursday, August 28, 2008, 00:01

FOLLOWING an opening day draw at Fairford Town and victory in the FA Cup at home to Alresford Town, Harrow Hill gained an excellent 2-2 draw away at Almondsbury in the Hellenic Premier.

Almondsbury narrowly missed out on the league title last season and are expected to go well again.

They went in front in the 34th minute with a penalty from Andrews, but Eddie Weyman slammed Hill's equaliser a minute into the second-half.

A 67th minute penalty from Matt Jackson gave Hill a shock lead, but Almondsbury rescued a point with a 71st minute leveller from Towler.

On Saturday, Hill lost 2-1 at home to league new boys Reading Town.

Matt Jackson put the home side in front from the penalty-spot in the 31st minute, but the lead was short-lived – Hiniston firing past Ricky Beckett just two minutes later.

A 53rd minute own-goal was all that separated the two sides.

Hill also tasted defeat on Bank Holiday Monday, losing 1-0 at Pegasus Juniors.

Hyde scored the only goal of the game in the 76th minute.

SCORING FROM THE SPOT: Matt Jackson (on ball), converted penalties against Almondsbury and Reading Town.
