Collicutt's Cleeve seal a morale-boosting win
The striker is on trial from Hardwicke and he struck shortly before half-time as a depleted Cleeve side bounced back from their 4-3 defeat by Almondsbury Town on Monday evening.
A number of players were forced to play twice in 24 hours, while boss Paul Collicutt had nine players unavailable, including defender John Routledge, who was assaulted while on holiday in Torquay.
Both teams were fired up and the match looked anything other than friendly from the first whistle.
Steve Lutz lunged into a challenge on Jackson in the opening seconds and it set the tone for an ill-tempered 45 minutes.
Wayne Dyer and Adam Mayo clashed and forced their heads together, with both players escaping with a talking to from the referee.
Zamaretto Premier Division club Evesham created the first chance in the 10th minute when a free-kick was floated into the Cleeve penalty area, deceiving the home defence, but Tom King made a fine block from Jermaine Clarke.
King held a long-range effort from Simon Fitter before both teams lost players to injury.
Nick Williams was first to leave the field with a niggle for Cleeve and he was replaced by Richard Mansell.
Lutz then left the field and headed to hospital with a bandage across his face after an accidental collision and the Evesham skipper needed stitches.
Leon Woodley shot wide as Evesham enjoyed the greater possession with the wind behind them.
Clarke leapt highest to head wide with King stranded, but Cleeve threatened for the first time in the 38th minute.
Mayo fed Kevin Slack, who scored eight goals for Evesham last season, but the striker was denied by Anthony Watson's fine block.
Dyer was booked for a late challenge on Gareth Hopkins as tempers were frayed again and Mayo was given a nose bleed as the physical action continued.
Cleeve broke the deadlock when a long ball from Jamie Lock was misjudged by Richard Softley and Jackson applied a perfect finish over Nathan Vaughan.
There was little goalmouth action during the second half and Cleeve held on for their first win of the pre-season programme.
