Finnigan signs Kidderminster deal

FORMER Cheltenham Town captain John Finnigan has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Kidderminster Harriers.

The 33-year-old midfielder who spent the last seven years serving the Robins with distinction will link up with his former midfield partner Mark Yates at the Aggborough club.

The dynamic central midfield player who has endured a miserable two seasons with injury agreed a contract settlement with the Robins earlier this week, freeing him to move to Kidderminster.

He turned down the advances of ambitious Blue Square South club Newport County, in order to be re-united with his former team-mate.

Yates, who like Finnigan captained the Robins to play-off victory at the Millennium Stadium was delighted to have secured Finnigan's services.

"I've played with Finners, he's a great player and he will be fantastic to have around the place," said Yates.

"The only reason he is not playing League One football is because he has fallen out with someone at his last club - that is not a problem and we benefit from that.

"He's a professional he will be a great addition to the squad."
