Put spring in your step
IT might still feel like winter, but spring will officially arrive in the Forest this weekend.
The Dean Heritage Centre holds its Spring Festival on Sunday and, despite recent temperature dips, daffodils, primroses and newborn lambs are already being spotted.
Visitors will be able to take part in guided walks in the Forest or try their hand at smallholding for the day. Hands-on activities will be available for the kids including newborn chicks to see, ferret walking and more.
Officers from the Forest of Dean District Council's waste team will also be on hand to talk to visitors about the new charged-for garden waste service which will take effect from April 2 this year.
Harri Le Claire, PR and event manager at the centre, said: "The day is a fantastic opportunity to get out into the fresh air and start looking forward to everything the Forest has to offer."
