Next stage of sewerage work due to begin
IMPROVEMENTS to the Longford sewerage system will get under way next month, with residents offered the chance to find out more about the project on Tuesday, August 27 at a drop-in event at Oxstalls Tennis Centre.
The work by Severn Trent is due to begin on September 2 and will be the latest stage of underground improvements in the area following months of work in Kingsholm.
Drivers and businesses faced months of delays and disruption during the work by the water company during the last two years. Severn Trent bosses insist hold-ups will be kept to a minimum as the Longford work is completed.

Project engineer, Kevin Bowen, said: "We're investing almost £2million to make sure that the sewerage system has the capacity to cope with the new development off Longford Lane.
"Before we start work, we'd like to invite the local community to meet the team and find out more about our plans. We've worked closely with the local Highways Authority to organise the work.
"As part of our plans we've done our best to minimise disruption."
The majority of improvements will take place in fields and smaller roads in Longford, but disruption will take place as work continues on Tewkesbury Road between the A40 and Estcourt Roundabouts.
The work will be carried out by the company's contractor, NMCNomenca.
