    “Ysedra,
So I'm not the only one who picks up the paper whilst waiting at the checkouts, reads a few of the 1st few pages and puts it back. So handy for The Citizen to encourage this. It used to save me 42p, then 45p now it saves me even MORE!”

“Readers' Tweets seem to be scattered around the paper now. Perhaps as a way of making it harder to browse the remaining points of interest in the supermarket?”

“And I forgot to mention - just where have the selected views of the on-line TiG correspondents gone? In the old version of The Citizen they were in a column on page 3, now gone. Only a letter page remains which means Shaun Shute gets in the paper at least once a week. Great!

Clearly the views of the TiG contributors no longer count.”

“I emailed Ian Mean as he requested on the TiG web site day the new look Citizen came out, the same morning that Tesco could not scan the new barcode so no-one could buy the paper! (Monday 17th September) and I still haven't got a reply!!!!

THE CITIZEN HAS GONE UP IN PRICE BY OVER 3x THE CURRENT INFLATION RATE.
THE WEEKEND EDITION HAS GONE UP MORE THAN 3x THE CURRENT INFLATION RATE.
THE WEEKDAY EDITION IS EVEN THINNER THAN BEFORE
THE WEEKEND EDITION DOES NOT EVEN INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING WEEK'S TV GUIDE NOW

There are lots of un-sold copies of yesterday's 60p Weekend Citizen in the Tesco that I have just returned from. The lady said the sales were lower than usual.

So, I don't need to go to the expense of going to Mr Mean's office... it's clear what the public think of the new inflated price.”

“Fair play to Mr Mean and his staff. I think this is a great initiative, very open and transparent. After all it is our local newspaper. We all have the opportunity to add to it and to have any possible concerns heard, fantastic! I hope it will prove to a positive opportunity for us all as I am sure that there are any amount of people in our communities of which make up Gloucestershire that can and will avail of this on going offer from the Citizen team. Which I feel can only add too and improve the service already provided by Mr Mean and his team, whom ultimately serve us the readers.”

“"Have a story to tell, aquestion about the new-look Citizen or want to air your views?"

Perhaps Mr Mean could start by getting the headline to his own story correct?
He will remember the old saying, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."”
