Hundreds of people turned out for the annual event organised by Stroud and District Horticultural and Agricultural Society and opened by Lady Apsley.
“It all went well and it was an excellent day,” said Edna Powell, chairman of the society. “Numbers of visitors were definitely up on previous years.”
The show featured the first Festival of Nature as well as the traditional horticultural and agricultural displays.
“I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making it a successful day,” Edna added.
“The horticultural tent in particular was stunning,”
The display of knitting, crochet and lace made by the Knit and Knatter group was a new addition and also proved to be a popular attraction.
Alongside the displays of traditional breeds of cattle, sheep and pigs, visitors could also get up close to more unusual animals on show, including birds of prey and tortoises.
One of the ice cream vans was even offering the chance to have a go at milking a cow.
A display of vintage tractors proved to be popular as did the traditional fairground rides.
