PAMPERED pooches have been howling with approval at a Cheltenham vets for exactly 10 years – or 64 in dog years.

Staff at Vets on the Park, in Leckhampton, are celebrating their first decade by offering discounts and free consultations to new customers.

Starting with just four employees in January 2001, the practice now boasts a team of 13, and has opened a new site in Tewkesbury.

Owner Alison Jones said her team was still dedicated to helping small animals going through a ruff time.

"It has been a fantastic 10 years for all of us," she said. "I am so proud of my staff.

"We treat people's pets as if they were our own, whether it is giving a new puppy its first jabs or performing a life-saving operation.

"We are all pet owners so we understand their importance in our lives."
