Have you ever thought about Fostering?
Have you ever wondered what it would involve to foster a child or a sibling group? If so Futures For Children are ready and waiting to talk to you. Maybe friends or relatives have commented that you are good with children or teenagers or you may have parented your own children or work in an environment where child care skills are necessary. Does this sound like you? If so then you may have the skills and qualities that are needed to foster a child and to make a real difference to a child or teenagers life.
To foster you do not have to be married or own your own home or to be a parent. We are looking for people from all sectors of the community who have emotional warmth and a rapport with children and teenagers who will enjoy the challenges and rewards involved in improving life for a child in foster care.
To foster you will need to have a spare room. You will also need to be patient and tolerant and also committed to helping a child to succeed and achieve in school. As a foster carer it helps if you are the kind of person who looks on the positive side and has a sense of humour and fun.
Fostering is not always easy and is not for everyone. At times it can be difficult as you help a child take very small steps towards coping with an emotional or behavioural problem or maybe helping a child maintain contact with their family and siblings.
You are never left alone to cope with a child you are caring for. At Futures For Children you are professionally trained throughout your fostering career where you will meet other foster carers just like yourself. Foster Carers meet on a regular basis for training and mutual support. At Futures For Children you will be able to contact us every day of the year no matter what time of the day or night. You will also have your own support worker and we pay you a professional fee.
Futures For Children operate in a number of areas across the UK. To find out how fostering may work for you please visit the Website.
