Gloucestershire is situated at the northern edge of the South-West region of the United Kingdom, at the tip of the Severn estuary. The county is less than two hours away from London, with easy access to Stratford-Upon-Avon, Bath, Oxford, Bristol and Wales.
Still predominantly a rural county, the major urban areas are the county city of Gloucester and the largest town, Cheltenham. The population of 565,000 is split between the areas of the Cotswolds, the Royal Forest of Dean and the Severn Vale.
Gloucestershire's location is handy for airports at Staverton, Bristol, and Birmingham.
