'We've showed character to bounce back'
STEVE Evans praised the character of his Rotherham United team as they responded in the perfect way to their 5-0 thrashing at Dagenham and Redbridge a week earlier.
They also had to recover from conceding a goal within 60 seconds before hitting back to win 4-2 against the below-par Robins.
"We showed a lot of character, it was a big performance and we played some special football at times," Evans said.
"It was a shame it took so long for us to get the fourth goal because we could have won it more comfortably.

"We have a habit of making things difficult for ourselves, but to go a goal down as quickly as we did, we showed some character as a team.
"We said to the boys we wanted to play with pride and passion and it was a great response after going 1-0 down. The supporters were magnificent too."
Evans expects to be given licence to spend more money in the January transfer window and he warned that any players not pulling their weight will be out on their ear.
"We lost 5-0 last week and that's the nature of us, we have that in our locker," he said.
"The supporters will see that when we get to the window the players who have that in their locker won't get picked and they won't be here.
"We have to dig in until the January window comes. The board have seen my ideas for January and they are happy to back it, which is good.
"Our squad is tremendous, but we have had bombs thrown in front of us this season and we will keep working hard."
