CAMPAIGNER Kevin Howie from Gloucester has joined thousands of people in demanding the Government address root causes of hunger.

He has been trying to co-ordinate representatives from major charities to meet with MP Richard Graham to urge immediate action on hunger in the budget next week.

Kevin is a supporter of the Enough Food for Everyone IF campaign.

He said: "George Osborne's budget contains decisions about how our country's money is spent. It can help lay the foundations for a world free from hunger."

Gloucester MP Richard Graham said: "I've always supported the government's 0.7 per cent allocation to international development but I hope you understand I don't need to sign anything organised externally to signal that – indeed it would be pretty odd for someone who's part of William Hague's FCO team to do so!"

“By Jimbo, Timbo, You're right! (and it's not often I agree with you, but spot-on here).”

“Spot on Tim. If you want to reduce world hunger speak to the new Pope. Unfortunately if the Pope was to actually take action in that regard he would see his congregation numbers fall and the world's wealthiest religion can't have that can they!
I have been to Africa several times and seen the effect of Catholicism on the people. When you see stone churches built by people living in mud huts you really do begin to wonder what religion is all about.”

“We all want a world free of hunger!

People forget the fact that a lot of world hunger is caused by the catholic church and food aid.

Catholic church - No condoms - More children - More hunger

Food aid - More surviving children - More offspring - More intensive farming - More drought - More food shortages -- and repeat.”
