Gloucestershire woke up covered in a blanket of snow this morning and more could be to come, according to forecasters.

The Met Office predicts another cold day with icy patches and snow returning overnight.

On Saturday temperatures are expected to rise little above freezing again.

Gritters have been out on the county's roads and motorists are being warned to take care.

“i cannot get my head around why, with all of the technology we have these days that they simply cannot forecast the weather accurately. When I was a kid, if they forecast snow, it snowed. If they said it was going to rain, it did. Rarely any doubt about it.
Michael Fish is famously remembered for not forecasting a hurricane back in the 80's and yet on a daily basis and with the sky above us jammed with satellites, they can't get it right. Could this be another theme for a Specsavers advert?”
