Dear Sister,

Here is an important and very real opportunity to show the 'power of sisters' by putting our hands in our pockets and funding the replacement of the trees lost from Earth's major rain forest in the Amazon basin.

This amazing campaign is called Tree Sisters and the plan is to reduce the uneccesary waste of resources and repopulate trees within the Amazon Rain Forest during the next 10 years. They are asking initially for 1000 donors to donate monthly so volunteers can plant the first 4000 trees back into the rain forst within the next 12 months and if you share this article and the web link with all your friends and they reach 10,000 donors then almost a million tress can be planted.

EVERY 5TH BREATH WE TAKE COMES FROM THE AMAZON RAIN FOREST AND YET EVERY SECOND IT IS DISAPPEARING AT THE RATE OF THE SIZE OF ONE FOOTBALL PITCH!

“Takeaway22 I don't know this woman or her cause but I agree with her message. You make a good point though she should include everyone not just us women.”

“Stuntgirl1 - I might disagree with you here. When you start using phrases like: "Dear Sister", "'power of sisters" and "forward the link to as many WOMEN as you know", she makes herself sound a bit of an oddball and a laughing stock which could result in having an ADVERSE effect to her cause (not to mention that if the purely female terms were the other way round, the word "sexism" would be bounded around).
Just look at the comments that have been made already, that gives you a flavour on the effect of her and possibly her cause”

“At least she's trying to do something. The danger to the planet because of our greed is very real and in our selfishness some of us forget that Earth is a planet with limited resources. Stop slating her she's doing nothing wrong.”

“Sister! Why are you encouraging people to desecrate mother earth by plunging their phallic spades into her and penetrating her? The holy Earth Mothers spirit and the tree people are being RAPED by the phallocentric New World Order and their Illuminati led systematic desecration of our planets soily vulva and the fallopian tubes of Gaia in their search for U***tainium. Did the attack on the Hometree teach you nothing? Did the suffering of the Na'avi mean nothing to you? Did the...oh hang on, I'm getting all mixed up with Avatar now....”

“Lynne Shrubb, real person or comedy genius spoof character? Mad as a box of frogs website, liberal middle class yummy mummy approach to politics, hairdo by Edward Scissorhands, badly knitted Fairtrade jumper, oversized 'ethnic' jewellery...?”

    “Dear Lynne Shrubb,

Only those of us with boobies eh? And why not encourage your "sisterhood" to plant trees right here in the UK where forest cover is just 14% compared to an EU average of 44%?”

“I'm afraid Lynne is very real, and unsurprisingly is a homeopath. I'll not take nature lessons off anybody who believes this load of woo-woo:

“Can I take it that there is no real "Lynne Shrub" out there. Seems more likely that it is a generic name for a "tree hugger" group.

I have to agree with Alfredo - I am a woman and do not like being addressed as "Dear Sister". It implies that we are a race apart from men and, while there are physical differences betwen the two sexes, there are an awful lot of similarities intellectually and behaviourally.

If this post has any validity it should be addressed to everyone.”
